FREE HOCKEY CAMP!
Thanks to the partnership between Community Memorial Hospital (CMH), 4Check Hockey, and Cloquet Esko Carlton Hockey Association (CEC Hockey), this hockey development camp is being offered FREE of charge to participating athletes.
This unique partnership brings together hockey development, athlete education, and community support to provide young players with an opportunity to train smarter, safer, and with greater consistency—at no cost to families.
4Check Hockey helps players develop their skills, confidence, and hockey IQ through innovative on-ice training tools, including custom training dummies, combined with simple and effective teaching systems. Campers will participate in skill development, game-based drills, and training designed to give them practical tools they can take directly into practices and games.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This camp is open to boys and girls in the Peewee, Bantam, 12U, and 15U age levels.
While participation is not mandatory, attendance is highly recommended for athletes at all of these levels, especially players who are entering or currently playing at age levels where checking and contact are part of the game.
The camp will provide athletes with instruction and practice focused on safe body positioning, angling, contact awareness, checking technique, and how to give and receive contact safely and responsibly.
Whether your athlete is new to checking or looking to improve their existing skills, this camp is an excellent opportunity to build confidence and learn proper techniques in a safe, structured, and positive environment.

Parents and guardians will have the opportunity to participate in an educational session covering:
- How to recognize common signs and symptoms of a concussion
- What to do when a concussion is suspected
- How to support an athlete during recovery
- When an athlete should be evaluated by a medical professional
- When additional medical care may be necessary
- How parents, coaches, and athletes can work together to promote safer play
Sessions will be offered on Thursday evening (Oct 1) and Saturday during the clinic. Specific times will be updated as the camp gets closer.
***While the parent education sessions are not mandatory, parent and guardian participation is highly encouraged, particularly for families with athletes entering or currently participating at checking levels.
This partnership combines quality hockey development with trusted medical education, helping athletes, parents, and coaches feel more prepared to support safer play both on and off the ice.
THERE WILL BE A PARENT SESSION OFFERED ON THURSDAY AND SATURDAY (DAY OF CAMP). TIMES TBD
