registering on the new system
New for 25-26, this will be a change so let's talk about it. When you register this season the only thing you will be asked to pay for immediately is the raffle tickets. Once the evaluations take place and your player has been assigned to a team you will be invoiced for the 25-26 season. This will appear in the app, and you will receive notice that you have communication letting you know that you have received a new invoice. The app will give you payment options to pay in full by 12/31 or create a payment plan within the system. New for this season there will not be a credit card surcharge.

CAHA RAFFLE
Once again this season the Association will be holding its fundraiser raffle. This season every player is responsible to sell 10 tickets with the family max of 20. This fundraiser allows us to maintain current registration fees without asking our members for a rate increase. If you have more than two players, please email the CAHA office to receive a coupon code that will not require the additional payment.
Raffle Tickets will be billed during registration and will need to be paid for at time of registration. Gambling regulations state that we need to be able to keep that money separate from Association funds. So as you register you will pre-pay for these tickets. As you sell the tickets, you keep the money and recoup that cost. The goal is to have the tickets out early this season to take advantage of the early holidays and other things such as hunting season that people have told us is a great time to offer these tickets out.
Note: Ice Mites do not participate in association raffle

Games
Game & Schedule Expectations
Game frequency and scheduling vary by age level:
Mites (6U–8U):
- Players at the Mite level typically participate in local jamboree-style events throughout the season. These are usually held on Saturdays and Sundays and involve short-format games against other area associations.
Squirts, PeeWees, and Bantams (10U–14U):
- Once players move into Squirt and older levels, they can expect a more structured game schedule. This includes:
- District league games
- Scrimmages
- Weekend tournaments, some of which may require travel
Most games and tournaments are held on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, although occasional weekday evening games or make-up games may occur depending on rink availability and scheduling.
While we strive to keep travel manageable—especially for younger players—competitive levels may involve more frequent travel as part of tournament play and district competition.
Jerseys
Jersey Information
Game jerseys are provided by Cloquet Hockey Association at the start of the season and are to be returned after your team’s final weekend of hockey. These jerseys are property of the association and are reused from year to year to help keep costs manageable for all families.
Players are responsible for taking good care of their jerseys throughout the season. Lost or damaged jerseys may result in a replacement fee.
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Each level within the Cloquet Hockey Association has a basic projected cost established at the beginning of the season. This base fee typically includes practices, local games, and association-level expenses.
Beginning at the Squirt level and above, teams may incur additional costs for extra tournaments, practices, scrimmages, or ice time. To help offset these expenses, coaches and team managers are encouraged to coordinate fundraising efforts throughout the season. At the end of the season, any remaining balance not covered by fundraising will be divided among the team and assessed to each player's account.
Please also note that families are responsible for individual expenses related to out-of-town games or tournaments. These may include:
- Hotel accommodations
- Travel and fuel costs
- Meals and personal expenses
While we do our best to minimize travel, especially at the younger levels, older and more competitive teams may have more travel opportunities due to tournament structures and league placement.
We appreciate your support and flexibility as we work to provide the best possible hockey experience for your player!
